What is content curation?
Content Curation is the process of sorting through information obtained on the web that is pertinent to a specific topic or theme. The best information is then sorted and packaged in a cohesive manner, mixed with original content and presented through channels specific to an audience.
The good content curator sifts through the vast amounts of information on the web that is directly related to their topic of choice. They then pick the most relevant 3rd party material and use it with their own original commentary to create a compelling story, point of view, or narrative on their topic or theme.

Why is content curation becoming more popular today?
With the ever growing amount of information that people are inundated with day in and day out, finding quality information amongst the increasing noise of the web is becoming harder and harder. People who have pre sifted quality pertinent information on a specific subject (Curators), are becoming highly valued. The need for quality, relevant content curation is a great and a growing market.
Content Curation’s Future
People listen and listen good! I have seen the future and the future is Content Curation! Like it or not, the writing is on the wall, or on the web in this case. I’m not saying that this is all good, but it does seem to be a writing and presentation style that is trending up and being heavily embraced by more and more websites and readers.
Again, people are saturated with information. They are looking for an individual that they can trust. Someone who can pre sort, condense and present the information they need down to a sound byte with a link for further reading. This is what people are used to seeing on Facebook and Twitter and that’s what they are going to want to see from you.
With that said, I believe we will be seeing more content curation platforms, software and services, as well as content websites utilizing this format in the near and distant future. Again the need for Consistent Relevant Content is a growing market.
